I am Karen Moore and I am a qualified counsellor working in private practice in Warrington.
I chose to go into counselling as I had spent years struggling with the outcome of my childhood and the effect it had on my relationships in my adult life. I committed to counselling and felt that having come through it I wanted to help others find inner peace.
Now I am in a better place I understand how isolated and alone I felt and thought that no-one else could feel the pain that I did – I was damaged. I knew I wanted to visit the dark places but I didn’t want to do it on my own and found that the counsellor I saw was as committed to my need to find a better place as I was. She didn’t judge me but gave me a safe place to speak in confidence and at my own pace. With this knowledge I want to be able to help others who want to help themselves.
I have an interested in working with people who want to heal after sexual abuse or rape. I understand that you may feel is too challenging but I know that it is possible to rebuild your life again. In this difficult work I will be there, to bear witness to your pain and will support you whilst you look at the impact that sexual abuse has had on your life. I will be there, with you, for the whole journey so you don’t have to do it alone.
What has happened historically can impact on your relationships in the here and now. By committing to therapy with me we will work with your past to help with your future and change your life script.
In addition I also teach Mindfulness at a charity which helps people deal with stress and anxiety.
“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; On purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.”
